Webinar: Re-entering the Arts Classroom; Transitioning back to the physical classroom

Tuesday, July 28th | 10:00am - 12:30pm EST

As we anticipate the coming school year, it is necessary for arts educators to plan for the unexpected ways that our students, our classes, and how we ourselves have changed in response to the current pandemic and racial injustices. Art plays a unique role in recovering from chronic, collective, and historic trauma and building the necessary resiliency to promote post traumatic growth.

During this 2.5 hour workshop, participants will explore:

  • Identifying barriers to success and what the COVID slide may look like (cognitively & behaviorally)

  • Building creative solutions to overcome those barriers

  • Implementing brain-based strategies and techniques into lesson planning and physical classroom spaces

Small group break-out sessions will provide experiential activities to reinforce ideas presented in this workshop.

$25 per person.

Workshop is limited to 20 participants

Webinar: Using the Arts to Re-Prime the Brain for Learning

Thursday, July 30th | 10:00am - 12:30pm EST

With arts programs typically the first to be cut during an economic recession, it is time for classroom teachers to rethink their teaching methodology for the upcoming school year. Additionally, we can anticipate an increased number of students demonstrating adversity or trauma related behaviors.

Arts-integrated learning can simultaneously re-prime the brain for learning, helping students re-adjust into the physical classroom setting successfully while providing tools to express and release feelings of anxiety and fear.

During this 2.5 hour workshop, teachers will learn about the benefits of arts-based learning and how to successfully implement new strategies and techniques into their current curricula.
